OPPO F1 & F1 Plus launched in India, with 3GB and 4GB of RAM

Oppo, a very well known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, who has managed to sell 50 Million smartphones in 2015. This number might be surprising, but Oppo’s products are very well-known is various parts of Asia. That being said, the company didn’t come out with a lot of phones last year, however, some of the very few they did release gained mainstream attention. Like the Oppo R7 and the R7 Plus. The company has started the year with two handsets which they are hoping will capture the market. Oppo has just announced the Oppo F1 and the F1 Plus, which they are calling the “Selfie Expert” (Their words, not mine), in India.

The Oppo F1 is a Mid-range smartphone, though it does not have the best internal specifications around, it does seem to be very promising. The F1 features a 5-Inch, 1280 x 720 (or 720p) 2.5D display, which is covered by the Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The smartphone is powered by the Quallcom Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor, which is based on the 64-bit architecture, which is accompanied by the Adreno 405 GPU. The 13-megapixel rear shooter with F/2.2 aperture, PDAF and the 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture are the cameras offered in the device. The Oppo F1 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Oppo’s Color OS 2.1 on top of it. The phone also has 3-GB of RAM, and 16-GB of internal storage (Expandable upto 128-GB via microSD). All of this is powered by a 2,500mAh battery. The F1 is also a dual-sim, dual-standby handset, and measures in at 143.5 x 71 x 7.25, and weighs in at just 134 grams.

The Oppo F1 Plus is a complete surprise out of the blue. This smartphone offers slightly better specs, and a better build, all-be-it for a slightly higher price. The F1 Plus sports a 5.5-Inch 1920 x 1080 ( or 1080p) 2.5D curved display, which is protected, again by the corning gorilla glass 4. This smartphone is again powered by the Qualcom Snapdragon 616 processor which is based on the 64-bit architecture, which is again accompanied by the Adreno 405 GPU. The 13 & 8-megapixel cameras are the same, as well. The RAM and Internal storage of the F1 Plus is where it differs from it’s sibling. The F1 Plus ships with 4-GB of RAM, and 32-GB of internal storage.

The Oppo F1 will come in one color option only, which is Gold (why oppo? why?), which is priced in at 15,990, and will be available in select stores in 8 cities in India starting from February 1st. The Oppo F1 Plus however, is priced at 26,990, and will be available for purchase sometime in April.
